Introduction and Objectives of the Project
The fifth company, Blue in Green Recycling and Manufacturing Company, BGRM, is focusing on the premium grade products, the main products are camera and wideo recorder body, which are made from waste plastic that is polutting the ecosystem and wildlife environment. This company also concerns to preserve the environment. Regarding to protect the ecosystem and concerning global warming issue, The BGRM company has planned to process the high quality plastic from recycle products with automation process.
In this assignment, BGRM is working about auditting and improving on each processes from the previous assignments, especially in: CIMpgr in assignment 1, CORA Spreadsheet in assignment 2 and the process control charts in assignment 3 that will change the result of risk analysis, can be describe in the term of Process Failure Risk Analysis, PFRA. To make effective auditing and lean to sustainable and green engineering, the Radio Frequency Identification technology, RFID, which can help our process improve in many ways and also can be very useful in the auditing system.
We will combine RFID tool with every quality improvement tool that we have used in the previous assignments. In this assignment, you can see how RFID will help in establishing a trace system and real time inspection which can minimize the human error to zero. Moreover, it also shows the result of using RFID system in our CORA requirement analysis and also in BGRM PFRA risk analysis.
A Brief Description of the Methodologies Applied
RFID is a data transfers by electromagnetic field, to automatically identifying and tracking tags attached to objects. The RFID tags will use electronic ships to contain data. Some tags are powered by inducing of electromagnetic from magnetic fields produced near the reader. Some types collect energy from the interrogating radio waves and act as a passive transponder. Other types have a local power source such as a battery and may operate at hundreds of meters from the reader. Moreover, RFID tags are used in many industries. An RFID tag attached to an automobile during production can be used to track its progress through the assembly line.
In the case of auditing, we will use the ISO standards to control each process to improve the product quality, base on the customer requirements, and lean to the sustainable and green technology. In particularly, quality management system audits are totally different in nature, whether they focus on Quality Management Systems (ISO9001:2008), or Environment Management Systems (ISO14001:2004). Additionally, to create a consistant and fearless process, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has even published a standard (ISO19011:2002) to provide guidance on how to conduct quality and environment management system audits that are the essential parts in the Total Quality Management process. As a part of continuous improvement we will do auditing which will especially revolve around the ISO 9001:2008 quality principles which will determine the extent to which we comply with the standards. Part 1: RFID

In the beginning, the first interviewee, Timothy M.Rohdes from Northorp Grumman Corp, was presenting the RFID tags working for the active parts that had various kinds of model with internal battery, the RFID reader, the display to show the data that gathering from the reader also they could tranfer the data to computer. The interesting that might be able to apply to BGRM processes is the NEMA enclosure, computer protective cover to protect high wind, dust and water. The active tags come with the special reader systems which have something like a special reader system which is a not moving part. This special reader needs to be installed. Customer can order how the qualification of the reader and use in difference kind of business(for example, water or dust resistant cabinet, explosion prove) I think that the active tags will have more function which can be used for the important stuff but the cost is also more expensive than passive tags. Both type of tags can be read by the readers and shows all the information of the products on the screen.
In the last part of conversation, Mr.Rhode described how the RFID tool was far more better than the barcode system that it could be use fro the longer distant with more various kinds of data. Additionally, we can track the object, passive RFID tags from the different room with the long distance, 300-400 fts, but the object does not being visible. The RFID system is more reliable and advance than the barcode scanning system.

In this video, the interviewee was illustrating the computerized simulation of tagging system for consumer package company. This system can collect the important informations such as product number, product description and serial number in the manufacturing line. The speaker also desicibed how his company consulted the customer by apllying the six steps that coporating with consulting implementation process to cover the whole operation which is business process, definition, understanding material flows analysis, concept and budgeting, inplementation and project management. This part provided me the idea of implemeting munufacturing process in term of quality control and quality assurance to improve over all process in the company. It will be very useful for many parts of my company in manufacturing process by tracking and controling raw materials moving, using automatic equipments accurately. Moreover, this system is instant process and real time it can eliminate humanity error and saving the labor cast that tend to increase continuously.
Video 3&4: RFID-EMS-Case-Clip1C & RFID-EMS-Case-Clip2C
These two video clips displayed the real RFID system that attached with RFID code in different kind size , shape and surface of products. It obliviously showed that RFID system is more flexible in use than the barcode scan which has to attach on the plain and smooth surface. This is also demonstrated that how the RFID system detects and scans the moving products. This advantage can be used in the real assembly line, we can track where the materials are in the process and also can be used to controlled the perform operations on the product. Applying to BGRM process RFID system will be integrated to multiple computer system which can improve the process quality and product quality. RFID technology has the potential to improve the process by minimizing human errors and eliminating bar codes. Unlike bar codes, RFID can be placed anywhere on the item and utilizing a tag reader it can be read without the need to be on the exact location where the RFID was placed as it has the ability to update information about the item its attached to while being in different processes.
These presentations were showing the real process and sharing the experience to me, they also proved me how the RFID is working in term of quality control and quality assurance. In BGRM manufacturing process, this application will be divided in two parts. First, it will be applied to waste plastic boiling process to check the plastic mechanical properties. Second, it will be used for manufacturing process to check quality of final product.
RFID in CIMpgr Process Model
We have bring the CIMpgr Procress Models from Assignment 1-Reworked to illustrate collaboration of RFID system. This system is applied to improve all the process model that has showed in the picture below. In order to the various kinds of function that RFID can be used, this tool applies to trace, monitor and control the quality of each process in the Resource part of the operation.

RFID in CIMpgr Process Model
We have bring the CIMpgr Procress Models from Assignment 1-Reworked to illustrate collaboration of RFID system. This system is applied to improve all the process model that has showed in the picture below. In order to the various kinds of function that RFID can be used, this tool applies to trace, monitor and control the quality of each process in the Resource part of the operation.
According to the picture above that shows how RFID system applies to the CIMpgr Model in the parent layer AO. In this process, we have added RFID on the Resource part, R6A0: RFID, to aim Quality control and Quality assurance team monitoring the process. This system will be breakdown to each process unit and work in different functions depending on the scope and responsibility of each team. There are many benefits of RFID to use in operation process of BGRM. For example, to track the raw material of waste plastic before go to the boiling process. To apply in inventory process to help company to analyze and manage stock of material. To satisfied customer by providing tacking data in delivery process. The benefit of RFID tool will be discussed and illustrated the using function in the BOD meeting for the approve the project.
For the child process in the picture above, we have installed the RFID active tool in in processing machine in order to track the manufacturing process. That can control and monitoring the production rate and detecting the defection from the automation machine. Since the production rate is fast and the machines run continuously 8 hours a day, the traditional quality control by human can create a lot of error. This tool will be applied to replace the human in case of detect and monitor the production operating.
In this model, we will start in implement the RFID system software R4A3: RFID in Automation System& Engineering Design process, this process will added RFID active devices installation to set up the parameter for detecting. This tool will be set for monitoring production rate by measure flowing of production in the convey. The software will be installed in automation machine. For the manufacturing process, the RFID system will be applied to the plastic processing machine to monitoring the plastic raw materials to categorize the different types of plastics. And also, to detect and control the final product and package before delivery to the customer. This system will record the data and the description of product in case of implementing the process. For the Quality Control & Product Testing process, this tool will help the QC&QA engineering team to record the product data and defective details of each error cases.
Another point for the Test Run process, we will use RFID to monitoring the energy consumption of production machine in real time since saving energy is our the important issue of BGRM. It also collaborates with green engineering and sustainable technology, we will know the amount of gas emission in production machine by tracking the number of used fuel.

In this method, we applied to RFID technology to detect the error into the quality and standards of final products. he methodologies used are systematic, rule-based, quantitative and open source computational. Below mentioned is the heart of our methodology, revolving around seven key aspects that we follow from the beginning. PFRA spreadsheet is a very useful TQM tool which can be used by the company to improve their process and reduce and mitigate the risks involved in the process.

Regarding to the BGRM-PFRA-Spreadsheet added RFID system, from the testing data collected by Quality Assurance Team, Focusing on Implement RFID System in tracking product, raw material, and maintenance parts in automation process highest risk score of the Accumulated RPN is the last process. The RPN score is 18 points that means the risk is very low. The severity rating is 3 which means that due to the process performed, there is a Slight Effect on process operation The detection score is 2, Detection of Failure is Very High on the part or on system performance, or operation The Occurrence Rating is 3, which means the Occurrence is Very Slight on the part/ component, and/or on system performance, and/or on subsequent process, or operation. very few failures likely. From these three rating factors made the RPN score was 18, and the risk associated is low.
Working in Collaboration with Four Collaborative Companies
After working with four collaborative companies for a number of projects, now, we have strong relations with our four partners. This combination has aided BGRM to improve the process efficiancy and develop our operation to be most advanced technology. To apply the RFID systems to each process also requires the four partner to colaborate with the BGRM engineering teams to design the process, install and implement the system, and to eveluate each the analyzed results that gathering from RFID data.
IMTS: Since the reputation and experience of being exhibitor, this company has a lot of information about RFID system provider companies. It will be helpful to let IMTX working with BGRM Procument team to provide RFID suppliers. This company also help BGRM to screen and consult to choose the RFID supplier that is most suitable for BGRM process.
SONY: this company still helping the research and development team to design the RFID system to collect the data from final product. The standard of each item will be recorded and transferred to the main server. Another part is to help Quality Control and Quality Assuarance team to analyze the result and solve the error problems that recieves from RFID tracking systems.
RICOH: Ricoh working has been similar to SONY in term of function of customer and to satisfy customer requirements. In particularly case, this collaborative company will focus on camara body to yield the specification that was determined on the beginning phase.
SEW: This partner will help us to install and implement RFID system to apply with our automation machines in manufacturing process to make the production management more accurate. Another collaboration is working with green engineering and sustianable technology by detecting the energy consumption and gas emission from processing machines. This process can help BGRM processing line to elimenate the risk that might generate the pollution from accidentially fialure.

In this assignment, I was given four big companies from e-pack and I have to invent own virtual. I have to find the suitable business which I can collaborate with other four companies. After I had proper considerate all the information, I decided to create Coty Move Company which is a service and tourist business. BGRM will use the PT from Segway to be our product in our service. We really need to have a very strong relation and trust. I have to create and set all the goal of City Move by following ISO 9001 standard. By using ISO 9001 stand, we have to analyze the capability of our company and also have to analyze the customer requirement. Moreover we have to really focus on green and sustainable business. Finally I came out with business service with 100% electrical power which is green and clean energy. In the part of tourist business, our collaborate companies; Cannon, Sony and Magnet Source; are very important factors that make our business have advantage over our competitor. We have special function in our business which competitors do not have.
Moreover, I have learned about green and sustainable quality lessons from full length videos given in e-book. We have seen many customer requirement and how different business satisfied customers. All the lessons which I have learned from this video part already have been in every assignment from 1-5. The link to website about Green Engineering which is provided by professor were major contributor in the development of my company as it helped me gain understanding of TQM aspects, green and sustainable engineering.

In this assignment, I have learned about CIMpgr model which can analyze and easy to under our processes. If you want to improve your processes your business, you have truly understand what your business is. CIMpgr is the model which helps you understand the detail and relation between processes to process. CIMpgr model or any process model is becoming highly crucial in industries today. Since we wanted to have best quality in our business, keep our standard and want to have continuous improvement in our business, understand the relation and detail of business model is really necessary.
BGRM sign, improve in several ways. CIMpgr has helped in designing the whole process and identified the important factor in each step of process. The best part of this assignment let us understood the detail in every process of our business; we could be separated to separate inputs, output, control and resource factor. Moreover, this assignment also teaches us to follow the international standard which make our business model can be understood by everyone by using Data Dictionary (DDs). DDs is one of the best lesson that I have learned from this assignment, it makes our business model more international and makes everyone can understand this model.
Furthermore, I think we can have more improvement in this business model should be applied by Kaizen which we have to make continuous improvement in our process all the time. We have to review and change model follow by the customer needs. Business is always changed and with the continuous improvement tools, we can be the leader of our business field.
Assignment 2
I have learned the important of the customer requirements. Without customers, our business will be down. Customer requirements or needs analysis is one of the most important of any businesses. CORA (Component Oriented Requirements Analysis) is the tool that helps business to create product or service which can satisfy customers. Moreover we need to have concurrent engineering to design our business plan which can mad a good quality product or service which can really satisfy customers.
BGRM is driven by business service. We really need to focus on customer satisfactions. By using CORA, we can know the most important customer requirements and then we can design our service to meet the demand of customers. In this assignment we also have to analyze what our strength points are and what we need to improve or focus. In real world, we are not only one company who do this business. The competitor is also one of the main factors which make our business success or fail. ISO 9001 is one thing that we need to more focus to improve this assignment. The proper scope and standard which we have to maintain are very important to our business. Using CORA is the best tool that we can know the customer requirement and comparison with our competitors. In this assignment I have learnt the very useful tool which can be used to control the process. Process Control Method will help in maintaining quality of process and improve the process control methods using control charts. This statistical process control help us identifying the processes which start getting out of control and teach how to fix and eliminate that problem and thereby also help in bringing the process back to control.
Even though City Move is a service business, so we do not have any processes which have a complicate or a huge of production but we still can be use this tool to make a very important plan for our business. We can use the statistical data to analyze the failure trend of our equipment, charger system or status of mainboard system. All these systems are very critical for our service. If we can predict and find the trend of failure before it occurs, it will be very useful to our business.
The most difficult part of statistic is collecting data. We can improve this assignment by using RFID system. RFID system will make us more convenience to collect the data of usage in each PT and have more accurately. Engineering and statistic teams will save more time and have more quality of data. Moreover, after they bring the process back in-control, they also can control and monitor the status of each PT by using RFID system by real time.

Our business relies on the customer satisfaction. We cannot risk any processes which lead to unsatisfied customers. We have to analyze and minimize all the risks which have probability to occur neither more nor less. By using PFRA we can know all the risk in each process and also give us the priority to eliminate.
PFRA has improved our understanding the potential of customer not satisfaction and the risk associated with them. Furthermore this unique PFRA method also helps on how to improve that risky process and make more sustainable and green business.
This tool helps us in identifying and finds the way to minimizing the process which have risk and make process more sustainable. With the three main factors we use in analysis; occurrence, severity and detection rate; and values to calculate Accumulated Risk Priority Number which priority which risk should be more focus first.
In this process we can have a significant improve by using lean tool to apply in our risk management. In every corrective action, we can put lean concept into our process which not only minimize the risk but also save time and money. Moreover, lean will make our business more green and sustainable.

Total Quality Improvement, Continuous Improvement, CORA, CIMpgr , PFRA, RFID, green and sustainable business are all integrated in the process of City Move. We are high dedicated to provide a high quality service with a zero carbon emitting transportation. As we use a lot of tool to continuous improvement our process but we still have to maintain our standard of our quality service. One of the most important things that help keeping our standard is auditing.
Auditing is a best approach to maintain and courage employee in company to have an improvement. City Move has decided to address the audit systems in our process which will help us making our processed more effective and smooth. Also the suggestions and recommendations of audit are going to help my company in long term. From chapter 20 of TQM e-book, I have answered and addressed each of the audit issues for my company i.e. Power Touch below:
WHO should be audited?
The entire employees of City Move who are stationed at PT station. They should know all detail and completely understand the working system of PT and working follow by the instruction. Also we need to audit about the customer service mind for every employee which are very important for service business. Moreover we should have internal audit system between collaborate company to keep and maintain ISO 9001 standard.
WHY should be audited?
The audit process will make the entire employee keep their standard and follow the instruction that there were trained. If employees are working follow by the instruction in every process, our equipment will have more efficiency and have long life time of usage.
WHAT type of audit should be conducted?
Both types of audit are necessary for our business. We should have external audit to guarantee our quality to customers and for make sure that we have continuous improvement, we should have own internal audit to keep standard of our service.
WHAT should be the depth and scope of these audits?
We have identified to focus especially on: Customer Service Mind, Quality control, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, Green engineering, and Sustainability.
WHEN should the audit take place?
We should have an external audit once a year which can guarantee our standard service and we should have internal audit at least twice a year. First time is for preparing and checking the status of current situation in our company, then the internal audit team will give a suggestion to employee to improve themselves. After we have improved from internal audit team, the external audit will come for the real audit. The second time form internal audit is for helping employee and follows up the result after our company have suggestion from external audit.
WHO will perform the audit?
For internal audit team; Profession having relevant qualifications and knowing all the customer requirement aspect will be a part of auditing team.
For external audit we should ask for the famous tourism organization stand to audit our tourist business. Moreover we should have some guarantee from the government organization to audit our transportation system which can give more confident and reliable to our customers.
The audit schedule plan
1. Audit Initiation
Make an appointment to the audit team the inform the entire department who have responsible about auditing to have a meeting. This can brief the scope and criteria of the audit team will audit and give some time for auditee. Employee in each station will have to set the responsible person who will be the leader of auditee and everyone should answer all the questions to auditor.
2. Document Review
Every document which is used in the real business should make a clearly record and sign the name of the responsible person who takes the record. Not only the paper document but also electrical document should have the system which can be tracked and reverse check for the person who takes responsible. Employee should know the process and always update the data of PT usage into RFIS system which can be easy to use and answer question to auditor.
3. Prepare for onsite audit
Person who is leader of the auditee should prepare all the scope and the audit path way for the real audit team. Auditee will set and prepare the area and process which we want to show to the auditor. Auditor has the right to ask any questions to every employee and can ask to see more process, if they do not clearly understand in our process but they still have to use our major audit plan which we already prepared.
Objective: The objective of auditing is depended on the type of audit. The objective of internal audit is to verify that employee work follow proper instruction and give suggestion for improvement. The main objective is prepared our employee and location for the external audit team. The objective of external audit team is to verify that we follow proper procedures, determine our compliance with ISO, quality and make a real green business then, provide recommendations/suggestions for improvement.
Scope: All of our departments and processes will be audited to ensure their compliance. Additionally our stated core principles, objectives and the extent to which we meet those details will be determined.
Dates & Places: For internal audit we will make the major internal audit at the main office of City Move then we will continue send the audit team to every PT station one by one. For external audit team we will let the auditor sample some PT stations and once major audit at main City Move office.
Then the work assignment to the audit team will be done on the basis of expertise and skills every individual hold who will audit our respective process/department. After this necessary work documents will be prepared by teams. These preparations will help in letting the actual audit process go fluently.
4. Conducting an on-site audit
Auditor will follow by the plan that we already plan to them. First of all, starting meeting will present all the scope and objective of this audit then the auditor will be conducting on-site. In each area we will provide the person in charge to answer the entire questions that auditor want to know. The auditor can ask question to any employees in PT station and our employee must be trained and answer the proper answer. In the tourist audit, auditor may need the statistical data which are representing the performance of our employee customer service mind and feedback of customers. Audit team will talk to each other to discuss and review each of our process. The finally audit leader will conduct the closing meeting. This will help us in knowing the findings of audit and will help in identifying the areas that are creating problems.
5. Audit reporting
Auditors will summary all the suggestion that we should improve and write it the audit report and distribute to the exclusive managers and responsible persons. This process will encourage our employees to improve their process.
6. Audit completion
After everything has been finished by audit team, the rest of responsible are became our responsibility. We have to use the audit report to help us taking corrective action and improve our processes.
7. Audit follow-up
After we had finished the external audit, all the recommendation in the audit report should corrective immediately. The internal audit team of City Move will come to help and improve by following the external audit report. Then after we corrective all the suggestion of the audit report, the auditee leader will summary all the corrective actions and the result after improved follow the report, we will send the follow up back to the auditor team to make them check our improvement and make the continuous improvement.
Panorama Navigation Map
Panorama Navigation Map is a very amazing tool from TQM perspective. I never use any tool like this before, this tool has may benefit which we can adapt in the real business. This tool gives us an opportunity to observe 360 degree of any environment from the remote distant. We can add or give the explanations in the area that we want to focus. Moreover, we also can use this tool observed and see the difference for a long time study.
In the auditing aspect, this tool can be the new way of the audit which no one does this before. We can create an online audit system by using Panorama Navigation Map. Auditor does not have to go on the real place anymore. This should be very useful the business like City Move business. We have a number of PT stations which auditor cannot cover all places, so auditor can choose just some station which they can go to the real place and the others they can make the audit online system by using Panorama Navigation Map.
This program is also very useful about the follow-up stage. We can make the follow up by showing the map before and after improvement to auditor. In the Panorama Map we can put the explanations about how we improve or change the process, then auditor can see the improvement. This tool will make the audit become easier and save more time to both auditor and auditee. Auditor can check the result of corrective action very easy, so they will have enough to make more suggestion and make the continuous improvement to our processes.
Part 3 – Video Conferencing Session
Video conferencing is a communication technology that integrates video and voice to connect remote users with each other as if they were in the same room. Each user needs a computer, webcam, microphone, and broadband internet connection for participation in video conferencing. Users see and hear each other in real time, allowing natural conversations not possible with voice-only communications technology.
A video conference was conducted on December 9, 2014 with Mr. Worapol Puaratanaaroonkorn. The following is information regarding the conference.
Q1) What was the purpose of the video-conferencing session?
Ans) The main purpose of this video conferencing session was to conduct a virtual product design review. We reviewed the entire semester work and had a virtual product prototype discussion among ourselves. By work such as the products designed by each of us, what methods were applied, the most challenging assignments, the method or the chapter that helped us a lot and what we did basically in the entire semester. Thus we were able to have a revision and a brainstorming session and understood each other’s products designed, methods used and challenges and problems faced during the course of the semester.
Q2) What software did you use for VC session and how?
Ans) Wehave used APPLE FACETIMEfor our video conference. But there are a lot more VOIP systems available online by which we can have video conference. But we preferred to use FaceTime just because we use it regularly, in fact daily and also because of its user friendliness. Most importantly it is a very comfortable feature available on the smartest phone ever, i.e., IPhone. The FaceTime software is preloaded in an IPhone which can be used for video calls and w orks with the help of the front camera which contains a high definition lens. We can directly call the other person who uses an IPhone similar to that of a voice call. We can reach other person either by mobile number or by email id. This feature works well both with Wi-Fi and cellular data.
Q3) What did you discuss and achieve during the VC session?
Ans) Wehave discussed about our 5th company and also our collaborative companies in overall, and we went briefly through each assignment. We have discussed about the green trends being incorporated in our companies. We jointly came up with new and effective sustainable green processes which can further enhance our companies. We have also discussed about our CORA analysis. Worapol assured me that I have chosen the right process for the Assignment 4, because I had certain doubts about PFRA (not in terms of the tool itself, but whether I chose the right process for applying this tool). I explained Worapol how to use Visio for his Assignment 1 and I also helped him to create separate page for each assignment, because he had the same problem as I did – all assignments were under the same link lined in a sequence, one after the other.

Working in Collaboration with Four Collaborative Companies
After working with four collaborative companies for a number of projects, now, we have strong relations with our four partners. This combination has aided BGRM to improve the process efficiancy and develop our operation to be most advanced technology. To apply the RFID systems to each process also requires the four partner to colaborate with the BGRM engineering teams to design the process, install and implement the system, and to eveluate each the analyzed results that gathering from RFID data.
IMTS: Since the reputation and experience of being exhibitor, this company has a lot of information about RFID system provider companies. It will be helpful to let IMTX working with BGRM Procument team to provide RFID suppliers. This company also help BGRM to screen and consult to choose the RFID supplier that is most suitable for BGRM process.
SONY: this company still helping the research and development team to design the RFID system to collect the data from final product. The standard of each item will be recorded and transferred to the main server. Another part is to help Quality Control and Quality Assuarance team to analyze the result and solve the error problems that recieves from RFID tracking systems.
RICOH: Ricoh working has been similar to SONY in term of function of customer and to satisfy customer requirements. In particularly case, this collaborative company will focus on camara body to yield the specification that was determined on the beginning phase.
SEW: This partner will help us to install and implement RFID system to apply with our automation machines in manufacturing process to make the production management more accurate. Another collaboration is working with green engineering and sustianable technology by detecting the energy consumption and gas emission from processing machines. This process can help BGRM processing line to elimenate the risk that might generate the pollution from accidentially fialure.
Part 2 Quality AuditAudit is a crucial process which yields effective results with its continual focus on quality improvement. As a part of TQM audit I have decided to:

In this assignment, I was given four big companies from e-pack and I have to invent own virtual. I have to find the suitable business which I can collaborate with other four companies. After I had proper considerate all the information, I decided to create Coty Move Company which is a service and tourist business. BGRM will use the PT from Segway to be our product in our service. We really need to have a very strong relation and trust. I have to create and set all the goal of City Move by following ISO 9001 standard. By using ISO 9001 stand, we have to analyze the capability of our company and also have to analyze the customer requirement. Moreover we have to really focus on green and sustainable business. Finally I came out with business service with 100% electrical power which is green and clean energy. In the part of tourist business, our collaborate companies; Cannon, Sony and Magnet Source; are very important factors that make our business have advantage over our competitor. We have special function in our business which competitors do not have.
Moreover, I have learned about green and sustainable quality lessons from full length videos given in e-book. We have seen many customer requirement and how different business satisfied customers. All the lessons which I have learned from this video part already have been in every assignment from 1-5. The link to website about Green Engineering which is provided by professor were major contributor in the development of my company as it helped me gain understanding of TQM aspects, green and sustainable engineering.

In this assignment, I have learned about CIMpgr model which can analyze and easy to under our processes. If you want to improve your processes your business, you have truly understand what your business is. CIMpgr is the model which helps you understand the detail and relation between processes to process. CIMpgr model or any process model is becoming highly crucial in industries today. Since we wanted to have best quality in our business, keep our standard and want to have continuous improvement in our business, understand the relation and detail of business model is really necessary.
BGRM sign, improve in several ways. CIMpgr has helped in designing the whole process and identified the important factor in each step of process. The best part of this assignment let us understood the detail in every process of our business; we could be separated to separate inputs, output, control and resource factor. Moreover, this assignment also teaches us to follow the international standard which make our business model can be understood by everyone by using Data Dictionary (DDs). DDs is one of the best lesson that I have learned from this assignment, it makes our business model more international and makes everyone can understand this model.
Furthermore, I think we can have more improvement in this business model should be applied by Kaizen which we have to make continuous improvement in our process all the time. CORA (Component Oriented Requirements Analysis) is the tool that helps business to create product or service which can satisfy customers. Moreover we need to have concurrent engineering to design our business plan which can mad a good quality product or service which can really satisfy customers.
BGRM is driven by business service. We really need to focus on customer satisfactions. By using CORA, we can know the most important customer requirements and then we can design our service to meet the demand of customers. In this assignment we also have to analyze what our strength points are and what we need to improve or focus. In real world, we are not only one company who do this business. The competitor is also one of the main factors which make our business success or fail. ISO 9001 is one thing that we need to more focus to improve this assignment. The proper scope and standard which we have to maintain are very important to our business. Using CORA is the best tool that we can know the customer requirement and comparison with our competitors. We can use ISO 9001 standard to improve this assignment. ISO 9001 will lead CORA to have more quality and continuous improvement.

I explained Worapol how to use Visio for his Assignment 1 and I also helped him to create separate page for each assignment, because he had the same problem as I did – all assignments were under the same link lined in a sequence, one after the other.

Q4)How do you like this video-conferencing approach for collaborative problem solving?
Ans) Video Conference is the best approach for people who are not based in the same location and meeting face to face is not an option. Furthermore it was nice to personalize a discussion and see human emotion during a conversation. I like it because it is convenient for me, since I am living in Jersey City and Worapol is living in Newark, so I would have had to travel for an hour in one direction in order to have this discussion face-to-face. Hence, with FaceTime, I had no need to physically go anywhere. However, I don’t think this approach is always applicable. Sometimes having face-to-face discussion is much more effective. It completely depends on the type and complexity of the project.
Q5) What were the main challenges?
Ans) We had no technical difficulties in the sound or camera. However, sometimes we were wasting our time on the issues that would have been avoided if we were having face-to-face discussion. For example, when Worapol was reviewing my Assignment 0 and I wanted to ask him for opinion about some particular paragraph that I wrote, I had to count the paragraphs and tell him “Go on that and that paragraph, the one under my picture, etc.” But, if we were having discussion face-to-face, I would have simply shown him the relevant paragraph. Also, the challenge was to get into the Worapol’s TQM world in a short time, where he spent his complete semester on it. Of course, we cannot expect physical convenience in a virtual meet.
Q6) What worked well, and what did not, and why?
Ans) Worapol and I had a good conversation. We didn’t interrupt each other and we put an effort to understand each other’s’ 5th company and collaborative companies, and to give each other constructive advice about our assignments. Interestingly, there were no things that didn’t come out well except the face-to-face discussion comforts which were mentioned above.
